Tooth decay is one of the most common (and preventable) childhood health concerns. That’s why we offer pediatric dental sealants—a fast, painless treatment that protects your child’s molars from cavities. Dental sealants are thin, BPA-free coatings that go over the chewing surfaces of back teeth, where grooves and pits are hardest to clean. Once applied, they act as a shield against cavity-causing bacteria, keeping those teeth healthier, longer. At Little Bee’s Pediatric Dentistry, we recommend sealants as part of a comprehensive preventive plan for your child’s smile—so they can keep buzzing along with confidence and comfort.
Sealants prevent food and bacteria from settling into deep grooves, reducing the risk of decay in hard-to-reach molars.
Applying sealants takes just a few minutes per tooth—no numbing, no drilling, and no discomfort.
With proper care, sealants can last several years and help keep baby and adult teeth strong during critical growth years.
Our board-certified team knows how to make preventive care feel easy and fun even for kids who are anxious or sensory-sensitive.
At Little Bee’s, we don’t wait for cavities to appear. We focus on keeping teeth healthy from the start with proactive, evidence-based care.
We’ll help you understand the best time to place sealants, what to expect, and how to care for them, no surprises, just support.
Here's what you can expect.
We gently clean the chewing surface of the molars to remove any food particles or plaque. This ensures the sealant bonds properly to the tooth.
A special gel is applied to lightly roughen the surface—this helps the sealant stick securely. After a few seconds, we rinse and dry the tooth.
We carefully paint the liquid sealant onto the grooves and pits of the molar. The material flows into all the little crevices that a toothbrush might miss.
A painless curing light is used to harden the sealant in just second, sealing the surface and protecting the tooth from cavity-causing bacteria.
Nope! Sealants are just one part of a strong preventive plan. Kids still need to brush twice a day, floss daily, and use fluoride to keep their enamel strong.
Most sealants last 3–5 years, but we’ll check them at every visit to make sure they’re still doing their job. If they wear down, we can reapply them easily.
Absolutely. We use BPA-free materials and apply sealants in a controlled, sterile environment. The process is quick, safe, and approved by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
